the decision you made today…does it support your tomorrow?
Even as I become more self aware, I still find that I need to catch myself in moments where I am ready to make a decision that doesn’t align with what I say I want. Just weeks ago I suddenly felt “in the mood” to go “window” shopping but I had working on my website on the schedule for the day. Although shopping felt like the fun thing to do I had to stop and ask myself if it would be getting me closer to my business goals. A friend of mine who was previously unmotivated to work on her new business venture was all of sudden excited to work on a volunteer project. With her current financial goals in mind she needed to focus on her business. Are you on a healthy eating plan to lose weight but have the sudden urge to bake that dessert from the magazine you are reading? Some may call these moments of detour a form of self sabotage. Maybe the sudden urge to do something other than (fill in the blank) comes from a place of overwhelm or unworthiness. No need to spend time “figuring out the why”. Ask yourself if the decision you are about to make brings you closer to your goals or further away. Witness these sneaky distractions early on and make the decision that carries you forward!
